Industry and Market analysis

What is the spoken Language in Louisiana?

The spoken languages in Louisiana are English, French, and Spanish. The variety of languages spoken requires more attention in the theme park such as different forms of assistance in Attractions, Food and Beverage, and Guest Relations. For example, if we have some employees who can speak French and Spanish, it would be helpful for guests who don't speak English.

What does the ‘Sportsman’s Paradise’ mean?

People call Louisiana "Sportsman's Paradise" because it is famous for having many popular outdoor experiences such as hunting, fishing, and cycling. Because these activities are so popular in Louisiana, it may distract guests from The Resort and persuade them to find their entertainment elsewhere. However, if we market and advertise the right way, we can attract new types of guests who hadn't considered visiting The Resort before.

Name the Major Industries/ Agriculture in Louisiana

As of 2016, the top 5 major industries in Louisiana are Natural gas and oil, Lawyers/ Law Firms, Retired, Sea Transport, and Health Professionals. As of March 5th, 2017, the top 5 major agricultural industries are soybeans, corn, rice, cotton, and hay.
These factors could limit the usable space to build the park. It would make expansion more difficult as well. The land would have to be bought from locals or the government. On the other hand, the local food would decrease the costs of shipping for filling the theme park with food.

What are Parishes and what are the Parishes surrounding the Shreveport area?

Parishes are what Louisiana calls counties. It is a way to subdivide the state to make the execution of local and state government issues easier. The surrounding Parishes of the Shreveport area are Caddo, Bossier, Red River, and De Soto. This means the Resort spans over multiple Parishes that each aspect of the Resort must abide by the laws and regulations of the proper Parish.

Bordering Body of water (rivers, oceans) around Louisiana

Bayous lined with Spanish moss-draped trees evoke Louisiana's connection with water, but the state's most notable body of water, the Mississippi River, powers the economy of the southern part of the state. North of the Mississippi's delta, rivers, and lakes draw anglers and pleasure boaters. The state shares the largest freshwater lake in the southern United States with Texas and is home to one of the largest saltwater lakes in the country. This includes Mississippi's river, Red River which on the northwest corner of the state, Toledo Bend which is a 65-mile long reservoir along the Louisiana-Texas border with more than 1,200 miles of shoreline. What are the area attractions in Shreveport?

There are many things to do in and around Shreveport, such as art galleries, museums and casinos, and a water park too, but there are no theme parks in Shreveport giving us a unique selling point. The nearest theme park is in New Orleans meaning that we have competition in the state but it is on the other side of the state. These attractions are competitions but maybe we could partner with these companies and advertise inside of them.
